Vehicle to Vehicle Distance Estimation Utilizing Visible Light Communication and Machine Learning

چکیده :
In intelligent transportation systems, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is a technology that brings safety, efficiency, and convenience to roads. One critical benefit of V2V communication is the positioning and estimating distance between vehicles. Visible light communication (VLC) is a prime candidate for 21st-century wireless technology and is also poised to become a standard method for positioning which uses light as a medium for communication, providing high bandwidth and low latency, making it a compelling choice for V2V communication. This paper presents a novel approach using machine learning algorithms to estimate vehicle positions under various weather conditions using VLC technology. We introduce two step approach localization where first, it identifies the type of weather using Polynomial Regression, and then it estimates the vehicle’s position using a CNN method. This approach has increased accuracy and reduced estimation errors.
